YTDIST sustains momentum of Operation
'Retriever' |
||
Late in December last year, Yau Tsim District (YTDIST) initiated the Wave II of Operation "Retriever" to identify, through a continued multi-agency approach, young persons that may have fallen prey to crime, found themselves engaged in the same, or under circumstances that may give rise to concerns about their safety and well being. Continuing with Retriever's "harm reduction approach", Wave II saw the active participation of other key stakeholders, including Yau Tsim Mong District Fight Crime Committee (DFCC), Social Welfare Department, Department of Health and non-government organisations such as Hong Kong Playground Association. On December 21, YTDIST and DFCC hosted a half-day seminar for the management and staff of liquor-licensed premises, in a bid to enlist their support for Wave II. The seminar achieved its intended purposes in terms of information exchanges. In the view of YTDIST Commander Cheung Kwai-kee, the seminar provided a channel for officers, DFCC members and bar operators to reinforce communication and liaison among themselves and deal with youth problems together. ![]() |
