I-24/7 is the INTERPOL Secure Global Police Communications System for the 190 INTERPOL member countries to share intelligence and criminal information through a variety of databases.

The I-24/7 Extension Project is extending access to the INTERPOL databases from Liaison Bureau to other Crime Wing Bureaux such as Commercial Crime Bureau, Criminal Intelligence Bureau, Narcotics Bureau and Organised Crime and Triad Bureau, Security Wing and other Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) in Hong Kong so as to enhance their abilities to combat crimes. The project will be launched in the second quarter of this year.

To prepare for rolling out the project, Ms Rowena Lambert, a trainer from INTERPOL General Secretariat, was invited to come to Hong Kong to conduct a five-day training workshop for a total of 36 officers from the Force and local LEAs from February 6 to 10.

In the certificate presentation ceremony upon completion of the workshop on February 10, Assistant Commissioner (Crime) Lo Mung-hung pointed out: "The course aims at equipping participants with an effective, timely and appropriate means of communication across borders among law enforcement agencies to tackle crimes.  It is also a collective determination among the law enforcement agencies in Hong Kong to work with their international partners in combatting crimes."

Mr Lo thanks Ms Lambert for conducting a very useful workshop
