In a bid to enhance the ability of its frontline officers, Crime New Territories South (NTS) organised a seminar on "Vulnerable Witness Handling" for over 100 officers on February17. Addressing the audience, Superintendent Crime NTS (Operations) Hui Kwai-sang pointed out that frontline officers often come across and handle vulnerable witnesses and they require lots of knowledge and professional skills in this respect. Apart from gathering of evidence, a partnership approach had been adopted to collaborate with professionals from other stakeholders to provide care and support so as to protect vulnerable witnesses from further harm. Speakers at the seminar included Senior Court Prosecutor of Fanling Magistracy, Ms Jody Fu, Police Clinical Psychologist of Child Protection Policy Unit, Dr Ephraem Tsui, and Officer-in-charge of NTS Child Abuse Investigation Unit, Inspector Alice Lau. The seminar provided the audience with the expertise to handle vulnerable witnesses as well as an opportunity to share good practices and experiences. ![]() |
