New Territories South (NTS) Region is taking a pro-active approach in combatting criminal groups involved in quick cash crimes. To beef up officers' skills and knowledge for this task, Crime NTS hosted an experience-sharing seminar at NTS Regional Headquarters for over 120 Uniform Branch and Crime officers from the region on March 2.

In the session, Station Sergeant (SSGT) Man Tat-fai of Railway District gave a talk on the tactics to identify suspects and on his experience of planning and executing anti-pickpocket operations.  As well as explaining the complex modus operandi currently used by pickpocketing syndicates, SSGT Man and his team also demonstrated the ways to mount target surveillance.

Officers or units having any intelligence of interest or requiring information on anti-pickpocket initiatives may contact Detective Inspector Chan Sheung-yin of Regional Crime Unit 2A NTS at 3661-1222.
