To enhance the professionalism of frontline crime officers, Kowloon East (KE) Region held a criminal investigation workshop at Kai Tak Operational Base on March 2 and 9 for a total of over 60 officers from District Investigation Teams (DIT), Regional Crime Units (RCU) and Regional Anti-triad Units in KE.

Coordinated by Senior Superintendent (SSP) Crime KE Eugene Yue and planned by Superintendent Operations Crime KE Sin Chi-sing, the workshop covered many useful topics, including retention and recruitment of DIT officers, criminal investigation, duties of the Technology Crime Initial Response Cadre, telephone deception, standard and format of crime messages, child abuse and vulnerable witnesses. Through interactive learning, group discussions, experience-sharing and revision, the audience honed their skills of investigating crimes.

At his closing address, SSP Yue shared his working experience with the audience and encouraged them to upgrade their ability by handling different cases. In view of the favourable response, KE plans to organise the workshop on a regular base.
