The Chairman of the Independent Police Complaints Council (IPCC), Mr Jat Sew-tong, and five IPCC members, accompanied by IPCC Deputy Secretary General, Mr Daniel Mui, visited Sha Tin District (STDIST) on April 23. Accompanying the IPCC members on the visit were Director of Management Services Tang How-kong, Assistant Commissioner (Service Quality) Peter Morgan, and Chief Superintendent Duncan McCosh of Complaints & Internal Investigations Branch (C&IIB). STDIST Commander Chau Ping-sun and his officers met their guests at Ma On Shan Police Station and both sides had a discussion during lunch at the Officers' Mess. Afterwards, Mr Chau, Ma On Shan Divisional Commander Ma Lo Kin-wah, and Sha Tin Divisional Commander Chiang Yan-wa briefed the IPCC Members on the general policing situation in STDIST, handling of land disputes, and matters concerning owners' corporations. The visit concluded with an open forum session with a cross section of STDIST officers, which enabled the IPCC members to understand better frontline policing and the difficulties officers face in their daily jobs. C&IIB will continue to arrange similar visits to different Formations in an effort to enhance understanding and communication between IPCC members and frontline officers. ![]() |
