Joint effort to combat quick cash crimes
To combat quick cash crimes, Kwai Chung Division (KWCDIV) in conjunction with New Territories South Regional Crime Prevention Office and Police Community Relations Office of Kwai Tsing District, launched a large-scale publicity campaign on April 11 in the shopping malls and MTR Stations in KWCDIV to deal with pickpocketing, theft and street deceptions.
On the day of the event, KWC Divisional Commander Yau Kwok-keung, members of Kwai Tsing District Fight Crime Committee and Kwai Tsing District Councillors distributed leaflets carrying advice on prevention of quick cash crimes in places with massive flows of pedestrians, such as Kwai Fong MTR Station, Metro Plaza, Kwai Chung Plaza and restaurants in an effort to enhance community awareness of, and enlist community support for, preventing and combatting quick cash crimes.
Meanwhile, at mobile service counters called "Police Clinics", KWCDIV officers collected valuable feedback from the community on district policies and crime intelligence, which would facilitate allocation of resources in KWCDIV for combatting quick cash crimes.
