Force raises over $600 000 in Torch Run for Special Olympics |

A total of 1 100 Force members and their families turned out to support the fund-raising campaign, "Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics", on May 20 at Hong Kong Sports Institute, Sha Tin. After Commissioner Tsang Wai-hung and other guests officiated at an opening ceremony, the Torch Run commenced with Assistant Commissioner (Operations) Wong Chi-hung leading the Force runners on a route along Shing Mun River in high spirit. The Force raised over $600 000 out of the total donation of around $2m. The three top fund-raising formations were Kowloon West Region, Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force and Information Systems Wing. Tribute must also go to the Hong Kong Police Volunteer Services teams for turning out more then 100 volunteers to assist in the event. The Secretary for Security, Mr Ambrose S K Lee
