Police volunteers captured another award of the Social Welfare Department (SWD) at 2012 Volunteering in Community Organisations Sharing Session and Community Caring Shops Recognition Scheme Award Presentation Ceremony on July 21.

In addition to other volunteer service awards, the "Award for 10,000 hours of Volunteer Service" was presented to various service organisations. Last year, volunteers from the 40 odd police volunteer service teams chalked up a total of 124,676 hours of community service. Representing the Police Volunteer Services Corps (PVSC) Secretariat, Superintendent Johnson Chan and Sergeant Denny Lam received the award on behalf of police volunteers.

The PVSC Secretariat is very pleased that police volunteers served the community last year, heart and soul.

Those wishing to join the ranks of police volunteers may browse the public website of PVSC at http://www.hkpvs.org or contact the representatives of the volunteer teams.
