Chief Inspector (CIP) Sean Lin of Information Systems Wing (ISW), was recognised as Honoree at the award presentation ceremony of the 2012 Annual Asia-Pacific Information Security Leadership Achievements (ISLA) Programme held in Tokyo, Japan, on July 17. After ISW had received the prestigious ISO 27001 accreditation last year, this year the Force's work has been recognised again at regional level. "I am extremely delighted that our work in maintaining the information security of the Force is being recognised in the international arena. This is certainly the synergy resulting from directions from the senior Force management, hard work from my ISW Security Team colleagues, as well as support from all Force members for our information security initiatives," CIP Lin said. The ISLA Programme aims to recognise the achievements of outstanding information security professionals who have significantly enhanced the workforce by playing a leadership role in an information security workforce improvement initiative, programme or project. Professionals are nominated in three distinct categories, from Information Security Practitioner, Managerial Professional for Information Security Projects to Senior Information Security Professional. CIP Lin was recognised in the category of Senior Information Security Professional. He is one of the 27 honorees awarded this year, as well as the only one from Hong Kong. Other honorees are professionals from the private sector, universities and government agencies in Australia, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand. The ISLA Programme was launched in 2007 by the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC)2, one of the largest non-profit-making membership bodies of certified information security professionals worldwide, with over 86,000 members in more than 135 countries. (ISC)2 issued the widely recognised Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) accreditation. ![]() |
