At the 2nd presentation of the newly inaugurated Traffic Policing Excellence Series held at Police Headquarters on July 30, Head of Innovation and Development of the Rotterdam Police, Mr Martin Coyne, gave an interesting presentation on its latest enforcement technology to more than 150 crime and traffic officers.

He also illustrated how newly developed devices, in the form of Personal Data Assistants, assisted in retrieving data from vehicles during traffic accident investigations and in tackling vehicle crimes in Europe.

Summing up the presentation, Senior Superintendent Cheng Tak-ming of Traffic Management and Prosecutions Bureau, noted: "Crimes know no boundary, and traffic accident occurs daily in every corner of the world. We must make sure co-operation among police forces transcends borders for the good of society as a whole."

Before returning to Rotterdam, Mr Coyne said sharing of policing experiences among police services, such as the Excellence Series, would greatly assist global law enforcement efforts.
