Following a summer break, August 26 saw the resumption of Police mini rugby training for the second season. Since the first training session started in June last year with around nine kids, membership now stands at over 100 children aged from three to 11. And more kids are joining every week. Mini rugby offers an excellent way for children to stay healthy, master new skills and make new friends in a safe environment. Training is open to both boys and girls up to the age of 11. No previous experience is needed and training is held at Police Sports and Recreation Club every Sunday between 10am and 11:30am. There are no charges for joining mini rugby training. The only charge is that for the playing kit. In the coming season, Police mini rugby teams will take part in festivals around Hong Kong in order to give the kids the chance to compete with their peers from other rugby clubs. The festivals are large family events that will offer a lot of fun on Sunday mornings and give the kids a good opportunity to mix with each other and improve skills and teamwork. Those interested in enrolling their children in mini rugby or playing the sport themselves, may contact the Police Rugby Club by emailing hkprugby@gmail.com. |
