To strengthen officers' ability of investigating commercial crime, Commercial Crime Bureau (CCB) conducted a five-day Commercial Crime Investigation Course for Junior Police Officers (JPO) at Police College, between September 17 and 21. The participants included 18 CCB officers and 17 officers from regional crime formations. In addition, two officers from the Macao Judiciary Police (MJP) and three from the Securities and Futures Commission joined the course. During the course, CCB officers and experts from stakeholders such as Department of Justice, Forensic Accountants Office and Hong Kong Exchange and Clearing introduced the latest trends and the methods used in investigating different fraud cases. In a certificate presentation ceremony upon completion of the training course on September 21, Acting CCB Senior Superintendent (Fraud, Counterfeit and Support) Paul Renouf pointed out that the course aimed at boosting the participants' competence and confidence in investigating serious fraud cases across borders. MJP Chief Criminal Investigator, Mr Carlos Mendonca, commented after the course: "The course greatly enhanced confidence and professional ability of investigating commercial crimes. It also offered a great opportunity to learn up-to-date investigation skills and a forum to share experience of investigations of various commercial frauds and related crimes." Detectives at all ranks interested in joining CCB may contact Chief Inspector (Support) for further information. ![]() |
