More tribute to Force's best athlete

It wasn't a usual Saturday morning when hundreds of runners sporting scarlet outfit gathered at the Foundation Training Centre in Aberdeen for the Andy Naylor Memorial Run on September 22.

The run, organised by the Police Athletics Club with assistance by the Personnel Services and Staff Relations Branch, was not only a fun run to commemorate the late Mr Andy Naylor but also an occasion to celebrate his life and honour his achievements in his favourite sport.

All participants gathered to pay special tribute to Andy - one of the best athletes holding 16 running records in the Force. Colleagues from Operations Wing, Crime Wing, Districts, Superintendents' Association and police sports clubs as well as representatives from running clubs outside the Force turned out either as teams or individual runners to show their support for Mrs Lynn Naylor and their three daughters.

The run would not have been so successful without such active participation and assistance from volunteers. In addition, the support from the Auxiliary Medical Service, ChampionChips HK and Coca Cola HK was also indispensable. Special thanks also go to the Police Choir, Police Cycling Club, Police Handicraft Club, Police Magic Club, Police Table Tennis Club and Police College for providing shows and charity sale booths on the day.

For those who have missed the run, a limited number of the apparel specially designed for the run and to commemorate Andy are still available. Proceeds of the apparel will go to his family. Those interested may contact Mr Martin Tsang by email martin_tsang@police.gov.hk.
