Traffic Branch Headquarters Senior Superintendent Eric Cheng led a delegation of 29 officers, mostly frontline Junior Police Officers, from five regional traffic units, to pay a visit to the Shenzhen Traffic Police Department on September 27.

The delegation toured city's traffic command and control centres and looked at the equipment and facilities used to deal with road safety and road congestion.

Shenzhen Traffic Police officers shared with the delegation experience of traffic enforcement, traffic management, road safety and application of technology in traffic policing. In return, the delegation gave an overview of the organisational structure of the Traffic Branch Headquarters, traffic management and road safety strategies.

Police Constable Wong Chun-kit from Traffic Branch Headquarters, who had worked in regional traffic units for years, pointed out that "visit of this nature and scale" had never been organised for traffic JPOs before. "The visit did allow frontline officers to broaden their horizons. Through the activities organised by Traffic Branch Headquarters, traffic officers from regions have opportunities to get together and share experiences when matters of common interests are discussed," he said.

Traffic Branch Headquarters is expected to organise more similar visits.

The visit has enhanced co-operation and communication
