Combatting crimes that happen at public housing estates is one of the priorities of Cheung Sha Wan Division (CSWDIV). It is also concerned about elderly residents being more vulnerable to crimes.

CSWDIV, therefore, had designed and distributed publicity posters to disseminate anti-burglary messages to the residents. On October 11, it paid a visit to the residents of the newly completed Un Chau Estate Phase V, together with Kowloon West Regional Crime Prevention Office, Shamshuipo District Police Community Relations Office, Shamshuipo District Councillor, Mr Leung Yau-fong, and representatives from the security and property management company of Un Chau Estate.

The Un Chau Estate Phase V residents mainly came from the So Uk Estate and other old housing estates that have been scheduled for redevelopment in the near future. CSWDIV held a seminar for, and distributed posters to, them in a bid to promote good neighbourhood. CSWDIV hopes that, with education, publicity, intelligence gathering and stepped up patrol, it would forge a closer partnership with the local community in fighting crime and, more importantly, in making elderly estate residents more aware of crime prevention.
