PTU officers regain Sedan Chair Race title |
||
A team from Police Tactical Unit (PTU) regained the title of the fastest team in the 2.1-km Matilda Hospital Sedan Chair race on October 24 after fighting off six rivals in a new record time of eight minutes and 43 seconds. In honour of a staunch supporter of the charity race, the late Superintendent Andy Naylor, the PTU team members dressed in red shirts, showed a lot of power and resolve to lead from start to finish, crossing the line to the cheers of a big crowd of supporters and onlookers at the Matilda Hospital on the Peak. The race is in its 37th year to raise funds for the charities that do not benefit from the Community Chest. Late donations are still welcome and contributions can be sent to Superintendent Ian Strange at PTU Headquarters. Cheques should be made payable to "Matilda Charities Fund". Donations exceeding $100 are tax deductible and receipts will be issued. ![]() |
