YLDIST has its own 'Knowledge Café'

Yuen Long District (YLDIST) ran a "YLDIST Knowledge Café" in the form of three seminars cum sharing sessions between May and October for frontline officers.

The themes of the seminars and sessions centred on district policing, CID professional knowledge, and handling of public events and land disputes. At the invitation of YLDIST, experienced speakers shared with the audiences their professional knowledge of, and advice on, district administration; Non-ethnic Chinese policing; intelligence gathering, crime cases handling and common mistakes in criminal proceedings; land disputes and police actions in public events.

Among the speakers were Assistant District Officer (Yuen Long), Mr Tsoi Kin-pan, Senior Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions, Ms Wong Kam-hing, Hong Kong Island Senior Superintendent (Operations) Cheng Yiu-mo and New Territories South Senior Superintendent (Crime) Au Chin-chau.

The "Knowledge Café" attracted many participants at the ranks of Sergeant to Superintendent. They considered the seminars very useful for frontline officers to enhance their personal qualities and work efficiency. YLDIST plans to organise four more sessions next year.
