Eastern District (EDIST) Deputy Commander Lee Wing-kong chaired a meeting of the Eastern District Working Group on Youth Crime in North Point Police Station on November 8. Attending the meeting were principals or representatives from 33 secondary schools as well as representatives from Education Bureau (EDB), Social Welfare Department (SWD) and Non-government Organisations (NGO).

During the meeting, Inspector William Siu of EDIST Intelligence Section analysed the situation of youth crime in Eastern District while Senior Inspector Terrance Tse of the Anti-triad Section introduced various police operations.  EDIST Police Community Relations Officer Rick Chan spoke of the youth projects his office had implemented, as well as the activities organised by EDIST Junior Police Call.

During the tea reception following the meeting, the school principals and representatives cemented their relations with EDIST, EDB, SWD and NGO, and pledged full support for EDIST's initiatives to deal with juvenile delinquency.

The meeting provided an opportunity for EDIST to introduce its policing strategies, and a platform to reinforce communication with its strategic partners.
