The elderly is the most vulnerable group in traffic accidents. Therefore both health and road safety are equally important for the elders. In a bid to encourage the elderly to pay more attention to road safety and their health, the Road Safety Team of Traffic Kowloon West staged a road safety promotion event known as "Road Safety Long Live Tai Chi" at McPherson Playground, Mongkok, on November 10.

At the invitation of the Road Safety Team, the Tai Chi Champion of the World Wushu Championships, Miss Li Hui, designed a set of easy-to-learn Tai Chi movements so that the elderly would be more aware of road safety while practising Tai Chi daily.

Officiating at the opening ceremony, Superintendent Chan Yat-sze from Traffic Kowloon West called on the 300 elders attending the event to comply with traffic rules and remain vigilant to road safety.

Following a Tai Chi demonstration by Ms Li and her disciples, the guests and elders marched forth to practise the "Long Live in Tai Chi" exercise.
