Commercial Crime Bureau (CCB), in collaboration with Police College, has produced an e-Learning Package known as "Decoding Commercial Crimes" in a bid to enhance the professionalism of Force members and support frontline units.

The package has been specially designed for those officers who handle reports of complicated and complex commercial crimes for the first time.  The package has adopted an interactive approach to explore the characteristics of commercial crime cases, enabling users to handle such reports more effectively.

The e-learning package covers 12 common commercial crime topics, like employment fraud, pyramid scheme fraud, counterfeit currencies and technology crimes.  Each topic can be examined under four sub-headings: "D-M-I-L", namely, Definition, Modus operandi, Investigation direction and relevant Legislation.

To make the package more user-friendly, short clippings, animations and games have been built into the learning tool.

The e-learning package in Chinese will be formally launched on December 28, to be followed by the English version next year.  Force members can click on Knowledge Management in the honeycomb icon of POINT, and then enter "Decoding Commercial Crimes" via the e-learning portal.
