Led by Emergency Unit Kowloon East (EU KE) Superintendent Alan Crowther, EU KE officers formed a team to take part in the 31st Oxfam Trailwalker.  Encouraged and spurred by Alan, the team finished the 100-km trail from Sai Kung to Yuen Long in a time of 40 hours and 3 minutes, the equivalent of two days of A,B,C shifts continuously.

Preparation for the competition was fully taken on by mentees of the "Development Programme for Junior Officers with Potential" in EU KE as training to enhance their organisational ability and leadership.  More than three months before the event, they started looking for what they needed, planned their route and went for regular training.  It was a time all members coordinated with and complemented each other, building a strong team spirit.

Lam King-nin, both a teammate and a mentee, said: "It was a good self-challenging chance, in which I learned a lot. With the warm support by teammates and our support team, we finally finished the difficult journey.  Today, I can still remember the amazing feeling when we crossed the finishing line.

For SP Crowther, his teammates have learned the skills of organising and planning as a team
