SQW runs seminar on
Business Excellence Model
The Research and Inspections Branch of Service Quality Wing held a one-day introductory seminar on the European Foundation of Quality Management (EFQM) Business Excellence Model at Police Headquarters for about 100 officers on November 20. The seminar introduced the excellence model, which forms the basis of the Force's New Inspection Process.Mr Gordon McCallum of Quality Scotland, who is a Business Excellence Master Assessor, conducted the seminar, assisted by Force members who have been accredited as EFQM assessors. The seminar also gave the participants a better understanding of the importance of the model and its relevance to the Force.
Assistant Commissioner (Service Quality) Peter Morgan presented a Force souvenir to Mr McCallum at the conclusion of the seminar.
Mr McCallum has also run an accredited assessor training course, leading to seven officers being accredited as EFQM assessors. They will act as advisers to their colleagues and assist in promoting the New Inspection Process.
