Supporting the New Territories South (NTS) Green Bee Project and the Force's strategic direction of "Promoting Social Responsibility and Contributing to Society", Traffic NTS and the Hong Kong S.K.H. Shatin Children and Youth Integrated Service Centre hosted the "One Person One Toy Movement" at Sun Chui Estate and Sun Tin Wai Estate Centre in Sha Tin on December 15. The movement aimed at, while promoting road safety to children, heightening their awareness of energy/resources recycling and waste reduction, as well as promoting social responsibility in collaboration with local organisations.

The "One Person One Toy" project appealed to each officer to donate one old toy in good condition, and response from NTS officers was spontaneous. Those supporting the project pointed out that giving away used or extra toys would not only contribute to the causes of environmental protection and waste reduction, but also teach the younger generation the significance of sharing and caring.

The movement started with a talk on road safety to children, delivered by the Road Safety Office of T NTS with emphasis on personal safety and a joint effort to ensure safety. At the end of the talk, T NTS officers, using their own time, helped distribute toys to over 200 children.

"Besides getting tips on road crossing and cycling, I got a gift. I will take on the role of a little road safety ambassador to share road safety messages with my family and friends," said one of the elated kids.
