Police Putonghua self-learning tool launched |

As part of Putonghua self-learning tools, Police College rolled out a new e-Learning package earlier this month. The Module III package caters for Patrol Sub-unit (PSU), Divisional Investigation Team (DVIT) and Report Room. Each domain covers specific situations and police incidents as follows: Report Room: Lost and found, Dispute, Missing persons, Detention and Bail-out. PSU: Asking directions, Stop and search, Summons, Lost property and Reporting crime. DVIT: Child Abuse, Robbery, Theft, Affray, Indecent assault, Deception and Debt. All the sample sentences in this module have been contributed by District users and should well meet the practical needs in the domains. To ensure the accuracy of syntax, Putonghua pinyin and pronunciation, all the sentences have been vetted and audio-recorded by a professional Putonghua teacher, who has attained Class 1 Grade A as well as the Tester qualifications of the National Putonghua Proficiency Test. To ensure effectiveness, the module is equipped with features including key word search, individual sentence play and continuous play functions. Both the text and sound files are downloadable.
