Police Tactical Unit (PTU) Headquarters continued supporting a charity event, "Operation Santa Claus 2012", on December 12 in line with its fine tradition over the years. This year, contributions were received from Regional Tier I Companies, including resident PTU Companies, Emergency Units and the Quick Reaction Force. In addition, Operations Wing units, including Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit and Operations Bureau, also helped boost donations.

Six sporting events took place in a contest in support of "Operation Santa Claus" following an opening address by PTU Commandant Cheung Tak-keung. The four participating units came from PTU Headquarters, Special Duties Unit, under-training PTU Yankee Company and under-training PTU Zulu Company Cadre Course.

As it was the case last year, the sporting challenges started with the "Unimog Pull", which was followed by "Lucky Dart", "Slow Rider", "Operation Shooting", "Fastest Rower" and "Redman Rumble" - all designed by different units in PTU HQ with a view to enhancing esprit de corps.

Besides the challenges, there were also sales of donated items, a charity buffet lunch and a photo-taking session to boost funds. As a result, over $81,000 was raised for charity.  The event culminated with Mr Cheung presenting a cheque to SCM Post representative. All in all, the officers had a lot of fun while supporting a good cause.
