Force Tennis Team crowned National Champion

The Force Tennis Team was crowned champion in the 1st National Inter-Major Cities Police Department Tennis Tournament organised by the Guangdong and Shenzhen public security bureaux in the Longgang Sports Centre, Shenzhen, between December 5 and 8.

A total of 31 teams comprising about 400 players from the public security bureaux in Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Guangdong, Shenzhen, other provinces and major cities as well as Macao took part in the tournament. 

Led by Team Manager, Senior Superintendent Cheng Tak-ming, and Team Captain, Chief Inspector Mok Hing-wing, and after three days of intensive competition, the Force Tennis Team beat off challenges from Shanghai, Gwaizhou, Tianjin, and Inner Mongolia to reach the finals. In the final match, the Force overpowered Guangdong and was crowned the National Champion. 

In the Leaders' Invitation Event, Assistant Commissioner Lau Yip-shing and Senior Inspector Lee Kwok-chung beat representatives from provinces and cities to take the title.

This first national tennis event has not only strengthened the ties between the Force and its Mainland counterparts, but also promoted sports and healthy lifestyles among law enforcement officers. The next tournament will be held in Wuhan and the Force Tennis Team will work out to defend its National Champion title.
