Santa Claus visits police rugby kids

Members of the Police Mini Rugby Section had a busy time last December, training on Sunday mornings and meeting a very special VIP. On December 16, Santa Claus visited the kids during their final training session before the holiday break and brought along a sack load of goodies for the excited kids. After wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and emptying his sack of goodies, Santa stayed around for photos with the excited kids and their parents.

The Police Mini Rugby Section was formed in June 2011 as part of a healthy lifestyle initiative taken by the Police Rugby Club to offer a summer training programme to sons and daughters of Force members. Since then, it has gone from strength to strength and from the initial nine kids who turned up for the very first training session, membership has grown to over 130 with more joining almost every week.

Mini Rugby offers an excellent way for children to stay healthy, master new skills and make new friends in a safe environment. The training, conducted by qualified coaches and members of the Police Rugby Club, is open to both boys and girls up to the age of 11. Training is held in Police Sports and Recreation Club every Sunday between 10 am and 11:30 am.

Force members interested in enrolling their children in mini rugby or playing themselves may contact the Police Rugby Club by emailing hkprugby@gmail.com.
