During the annual Bilateral Meeting, both parties discussed issues of mutual concern. Besides evaluating the crime situations in the Mainland and Hong Kong, the parties also reviewed the achievements of the co-operation in the past year and exchanged views on maintenance of law and order, boundary control, crime investigation, Internet security, cross-boundary crimes, action against narcotic, and terrorism, police liaison and training.  Both sides agreed to further enhance co-operation and intelligerce exchange.

Other members of the Mainland delegation comprised heads of the bureaux under the Ministry of Public Security, directors from Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department, Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau (PSB), Shenzhen PSB, Zhuhai PSB and senior officials from the Anti-Smuggling Bureau under the General Administration of Customs.

The Force delegation comprised officers in charge of matters of crime, operations, training and liaison.
