The enhanced CCIII Radio System for the Passenger Terminal Buildings of Hong Kong International Airport came into operation on November 1 last year. Earlier on December 10, a ceremony was held to celebrate the partnership between the Force and the Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK). Among those attending the ceremony were Assistant Commissioner (Information Systems) Peter Else, Chief Telecommunications Engineer Jolly Wong, Airport District Commander Raymond Siu and representatives from Information Systems Wing and Airport District. At the ceremony, Mr Wong and AAHK Assistant General Manager, Mr Francis Lo, signed an agreement on extending CCIII indoor coverage at the airport in the presence of guests from the Force and AAHK, as well as other partners of the project. Speaking at the ceremony, AAHK Executive Director, Mr Ng Chi-kee, praised Airport District for playing an important role in handling incidents at the airport and thanked the Force for staunch support. With the enhanced CCIII System, Airport District officers can use CCIII radio handsets to communicate with both their colleagues and AAHK personnel. The enhancement project enables police patrols at the airport to access the Unified Digital Communication Platform and communicate with other government departments during joint operations, thus improving police emergency responses. Mr Else thanked the Force's partners for their concerted efforts and pointed out that the enhancement had brought a win-win situation for the benefit of the parties concerned. ![]() |
