Marine Region hosts tripartite liaison meeting |

Marine Region hosted the "Annual Guangdong/Hong Kong/Macao Maritime Law Enforcement Agency Liaison Gathering" in Police Officers' Club on March 6, with Director of Operations Wong Chi-hung welcoming the guests. This tripartite event aims at enhancing communication and working relationships and reviewing the operational issues among the maritime law enforcement agencies in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. It is a major cross-boundary liaison meeting to promote direct communication among the senior officials of Hong Kong law enforcement agencies, Mainland law enforcement agencies, including Border Control Division of the Guangdong Public Security Department, Guangdong Customs Department, Shenzhen Municipal Government Anti-Smuggling Office, Guangdong Fishery Administration Office, and Macao Customs and Excise Department. Representatives from the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government were also present at the event. In his opening speech, Mr Wong thanked all the agencies for their contributions to maintaining Hong Kong's maritime security and curbing cross-boundary crimes. Referring to the rapid economic growth and the closer ties among Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, he said criminals might take advantage of such situation. Mr Wong went on to say that thanks to the intelligence exchanges and joint operations by all the agencies around the Pearl River delta, stability and prosperity were maintained, providing a safe environment for both the public and business activities.. ![]() |
