Officers honoured at JPC Honorary President

The 10th Lantau JPC Honorary Presidents Council Inauguration Ceremony-cum-Presentation Ceremony was held at Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel on February 22 when Acting Lantau District (LTDIST) Commander Chiang Yan-wa welcomed 10 new Honorary Presidents and presented certificates of appointment to 28 Honorary Presidents and Advisors. At the ceremony, the winners of an "Outstanding Police Contest" and an "Anti-drugs Video Competition" received their prizes. A total of 15 officers of LTDIST have been selected as winners of the "Outstanding Police Contest" organised by the Islands District Fight Crime Committee (DFCC) and LTDIST. The contest aimed at boosting the morale of frontline officers by offering Lantau residents a channel to pay recognition to those who have come up with outstanding performances. An adjudication panel comprising DFCC members picked the winners. Working closely in combatting drugs abuse, LTDIST and the DFCC organised the "Anti-Drugs Video Competition" for young people, attracting a variety of entries from secondary and primary students. The entry, called "Repent and Be Saved", entered by the Po Leung Kuk Madam Ma Kam Ming Cheung Fook Sien College clinched the title. Speaking at the ceremony, Ms Chiang thanked JPC Honorary Presidents, Advisors, volunteers and community leaders for their ongoing support for LTDIST and encouraged the awardees to keep up their efforts. On March 9, the Wong Tai Sin Junior
Police Call (WTS JPC) Honorary Presidents Inauguration Ceremony was
held in Wong Tai Sin Police Station when 17 community leaders were
appointed Honorary Presidents. Mr Yeung Chee-tat took up the post of
Chairman of the JPC Honorary Presidents' Council, while Mr Chow
Ching-lam and Mr Tsang Kok-sang were appointed vice chairmen.Officiating at the ceremony were District Officer (Wong Tai Sin), Mr William Shiu, District Officer (Sai Kung), Ms Maureen Siu, Chairman of Wong Tai Sin District Council, Mr Li Tak-hong, Wong Tai Sin District (WTSDIST) Commander Chow Oi-wan and Deputy District Commander Ng Wing-yin. Besides the Honorary President appointment, commendations were presented at the ceremony to five winners of the WTSDIST Outstanding Police Award 2012, who were picked for their work performance in the past year by a selection committee comprising Chairman of the Wong Tai Sin District Fight Crime Committee, Mr Yeung Chee-tat, a member of the fight crime committee, Dr Wong Kam-chiu, and Mr Chow. At the invitation of WTSDIST, the students of the Islamic Dharwood Pau Memorial Primary School joined a programme of lion dance, martial arts and singing by staging a dragon dance. ![]() ![]() |
