With the growing population in Tseung Kwan O, youth problems have given rise to concerns in the local community and the Government have devoted more resources to addressing the problems. With the joint effort of non-government organisations as well as the participation of different stakeholders in the community, more support has been given to young people to prevent them from going astray. To get a better understanding of young people's late night activities in Tseung Kwan O, Kwun Tong District (KTDIST) Commander Chau Cho-kei, together with the Chairman of Sai Kung District Fight Crime Committee, Mr Lau Wai-cheung, and other community leaders, visited Tseung Kwan O on February 18 to observe local youths' late night gatherings and activities. The party also visited other places, including Kin Ming Estate, Po Lam Estate, King Lam Estate and Sheung Tak Estate. That night, the party members saw for themselves the fruit of the efforts made by various community sectors and the police in maintaining law and order at night in Tseung Kwan O. |
