MDP Seminar on terrorism
A total of 125 officers from various units and other local law enforcement agencies attended a Management Development Programme (MDP) seminar on the latest terrorist situation in Southeast Asia at Police Headquarters on March 13.
At the invitation of Security Wing and Police College, the Senior Advisor to the Asia Programme of the International Crisis Group, Ms Sidney Jones, spoke on the subject of "Latest Situation of Terrorist Network in Southeast Asia at the seminar, which aimed at heightening the audience's awareness of combatting terrorism.
Ms Jones is an internationally recognised authority on terrorism in Southeast Asia. During the seminar, she examined the latest developments and tactics of various terrorist groups in the region. She also briefly assessed the threat of these terrorist groups to Hong Kong and suggested some key elements that a law enforcement agency should take note of.
The audience had a fruitful exchange of views with Ms Jones during the question-and-answer session.
