Accompanied by MTR Corporation Operations Manager, Mr Edmond Wong, the party also visited the headquarters, Operational Commander Centre and Depot of the Hangzhou MTR.

The themes of the visit covered the newly opened Hangzhou Metro, the policing and working partnerships between the Metro Police and the Hangzhou Metro.

During their three-day visit, the RAILDIST party toured the Hangzhou Metro and the new Metro police stations, which opened in November last year. The party was also briefed on the security features of Metro stations as well as the policing strategies, manpower deployment and equipment of the Metro Police.

Head of the Hangzhou Metro Public Security Bureau, Mr Zhang Wengen, and the Political Commissar, Mr Zhou Haiwei, met the party and both sides had discussions on policing of a mass transit railway network, use of technology, and the challenges of management and operations.

At the Hangzhou Metro Operational Command Centre, the party was shown how a sophisticated CCTV system and 3D visual interactive imaging software were used to monitor passenger flows, handle emergencies, activate contingency plans and identify suspects.
