Lantau District (LTDIST) has teamed up with Ngong Ping 360 in organising a basketball tournament and inviting Lantau Junior Police Call (JPC), Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) and Fire Services Department (FSD) to participate. The tournament aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles and strengthening the liaison and co-operation among the participants.

On May 13, LTDIST Commander Cho Ming-lung, Ngong Ping 360 Managing Director, Mr Wilson Shao, EMSD Deputy Director, Mr Alfred Sit, and FSD South West Division Commander, Mr Wong Hau-on, officiated at the kick-off ceremony. 

Following the ceremony, the five-on-five tournament commenced with refereeing provided by the Hong Kong Basketball Association before a large gathering of guests. All teams displayed excellent teamwork and fought hard for the tournament title, which eventually went to Ngong Ping 360. 

To disseminate anti-crime messages, LTDIST has organised a number of projects for schools and teenagers, and LTDIST JPC members are taking on government departments and other organisations in the tournament for the first time. LTDIST hopes the tournament would motivate youngsters to pursue wholesome activities so as to broaden their horizons and stay away from crimes.
