Wong Tai Sin District (WTSDIST) has been running a "Fight Crime Ambassadors Programme" for eight years, appointing new Ambassadors each year with the support of elderly centres and schools. The Ambassadors, who are elders and students, are engaged in a police-community partnership in preventing and fighting crimes.

The latest Fight Crime Ambassadors Appointment Ceremony was held in Lee Kau Yan Memorial School on May 25, with District Commander Toby Chow officiating before a number of distinguished guests, who included Wong Tai Sin District Officer, Mr Shiu Wai-chuen, Chairman of Wong Tai Sin District Council, Mr Li Tak-hong, Chairman of Wong Tai Sin District Fight Crime Committee (DFCC), Mr Yeung Chee-tat, and DFCC members. Appointed were more than 900 Fight Crime Ambassadors from 18 elderly centres and 15 primary and secondary schools.

For the first time, the ambassador programme has been extended to the local Non-ethnic Chinese community in a bid to enlist their support for fighting crimes.
