The two clubhouses of the Force, Police Officers' Club (POC) and Police Sports and Recreation Club (PSRC), support the Force's commitment to environmental protection by implementing environmental measures on their premises.

The clubhouses also play an active role in conserving the environment and impressing club members on the significance of environmental protection with several environmental measures.

POC and PSRC actively participate in recycling waste paper and clothes, collecting over five tons of waste paper and clothes last year. Since last summer, the clubhouses have been co-operating with a caterer and a voluntary organisation in glass recycling. With the support of the two partners, the clubhouses recycled more than two tons of waste glass in the past six months.

Besides recycling of glass, the two clubhouses have also taken part in the Source Separation of Commercial and Industrial Waste organised by Environmental Protection Department (EPD).The EPD has presented a certificate of appreciation to POC and PSRC for their contribution to the campaign.

Another achievement of the two clubhouses is implementation of a solar water heating system. To make effective use of solar energy, PSRC installed the system in March. The system effectively controls gas consumption, and in view of this, the system has become a new item of POC's re-provisioning project.

POC and PSRC are calling on club members to play an active role in protecting the environment.
