The Vice-chairman of the Eastern District Junior Police Call (JPC), Mr Kong Tze-wing, and Assistant Police Community Relations Officer Eastern District Kwok Wing-chuen led a 32-member JPC delegation to visit Taishan, Jiangmen and Kaiping between July 22 and 25 to publicise crime fighting and promote cultural exchanges.

A highlight of the visit was a tour of the Taishan Public Security Bureau, where the JPC members were briefed on the work of the bureau. They also watched a counter-terrorist drill by a Special Force.

The delegation also visited the Jiangmen Children's Palace to take a look at a wide range of extra-curricular activities for youngsters, for instance playing Guzheng, learning Kung Fu and Chinese dance. The JPC members also had an exciting tour of the Palace's Science Museum, where an earthquake simulator gave them the thrilling experience of an "earthquake".

The JPC members were impressed by what they saw and observed during their study visit. "The visit gave me a better understanding of the culture of my motherland and the work of Public Security Officers," said a JPC Leader Yu Hoi-kin.
