Objectives of competition
To promote national security through short video production to demonstrate its close relationship with our lives.

Co-organisers: The Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers (HKFEW), Sing Tao News Corporation, the Public Relations Wing (Junior Police Call and Project LEGACY) of the Hong Kong Police Force and the Police Filming Club
Entry categories
Primary school category: P4 to P6 students
Junior secondary school category: S1 to S3 students
Senior secondary school category: S4 to S6 students
(Participants must be students in Hong Kong. Entries can be submitted individually or in a team (up to four students) under teachers’ guidance.)
How to enter
Participants should complete the enrollment form during the period between 1 January and 28 February 2025 and submit their entries by 28 February 2025.

Under teachers’ guidance, participants are required to use (one or more major fields under) “A Holistic Approach to National Security” as the video theme to explore and demonstrate the relationship between national security and their lives (current affairs, daily life stories, personal insights, etc. may be used as entry points). | Brief description of entry: | Describe how to convey through the lens the message that one or more major fields under “A Holistic Approach to National Security” are related to our lives. The title of the video and a brief description on the production should also be included. (Not more than 100 words, including the title of the entry and notes about any non-original music or clips used in the entry.) |

| Remarks: | The video can be produced in Putonghua, Cantonese and English. Participating studentsare not required to give the names of their schools or themselves in the video. |
Adjudication criteria
Adjudication method
The organiser will make a shortlist from entries of each category according to the adjudication criteria (including relevance to the theme, shooting skills, visual aesthetics and creativity). The shortlisted entries from each category will be submitted to the adjudication panel (including Mr. LEE Lik-chi, a famous film director and Hon TANG Fei, MH, a LegCo member) for final adjudication so as to select a champion, a first runner-up and a second runner-up for each category.Announcement of results
The results of the competition will be announced through the NSD’s official WeChat account in May 2025. Schools of the respective awardees will be notified by post.
Awards
Award details
- Each of the three categories will have a champion, a first runner-up and a second runner-up. The teachers of the category winners will be awarded the Best Instructor Award.
- Each winner will be awarded a trophy, a certificate and a cash prize and have a chance to get a place in the upcoming Hong Kong/Greater Bay Area guided tour.
- All qualified participants and their teachers will be awarded an electronic certificate of participation.
- Participating JPC members can earn points for the JPC Award Scheme.
My Favorite Short Video Award
In this competition, there is a special award, "My Favorite Short Video", in each category! You are welcome to cast a vote at below link for your favorite short video in each category. The entry that obtain the highest number of votes in each category will be awarded the title.
