Special traffic arrangements for Lunar New Year Night Parade
Police will implement crowd management and special traffic arrangements in Central and Wan Chai tomorrow (January 29) to facilitate a float parade to celebrate the Lunar New Year.
The parade will be held in Central and Wan Chai between 8 pm and 9.30 pm on the first day of the Lunar New Year.
To facilitate the public to watch the parade, arrangements including road closures, traffic diversions and suspension of parking spaces will be implemented.
Road Closures
-----------------
The following arrangements will be implemented from 5 pm until midnight:
- The Queen's Pier Square of Edinburgh Place;
- Lung Wui Road;
- Tim Wa Avenue, except for vehicles of the People's Liberation Army (PLA);
- Tim Mei Avenue;
- Performing Arts Avenue;
- Fenwick Pier Street;
- Lung King Street;
- Fenwick Pier Street Flyover;
- A section of Fenwick Street between Gloucester Road and Harbour Road);
- A section of Harbour Road between Fenwick Pier Street and Fleming Road;
- The northbound section of Fleming Road between Gloucester Road and Convention Avenue;
- The southbound Fleming Road between Convention Avenue and Harbour Road;
- The northbound and southbound sections of Fleming Road Flyover;
- A section of Convention Avenue between Tonnochy Road and Fenwick Pier Street;
- Expo Drive;
- Expo Drive Central;
- Expo Drive East; and
- Northbound Edinburgh Place between Connaught Road Central and Lung Wui Road.
The following arrangements will be implemented from 7.45 pm until midnight:
- The eastbound section of Harcourt Road between Cotton Tree Drive and Fenwick Street;
- Eastbound Harcourt Road Flyover;
- Eastbound section of Cotton Tree Drive between Lambeth Walk and Harcourt Road;
- Eastbound section of Queensway between Murray Road and Cotton Tree Drive; and
- The "U" turn loop of westbound Harcourt Road to eastbound Harcourt Road.
Traffic Diversions

The following traffic diversions will be implemented between 5 pm and midnight:
- Traffic on westbound Harbour Road between Tonnochy Road and Fleming Road will be diverted to southbound Fleming Road and then turn left onto Harbour Road or eastbound Gloucester Road;
- Traffic along northbound Tonnochy Road will be prohibited from turning left onto Convention Avenue;
- Traffic along eastbound Harcourt Road will be prohibited from turning left onto Tim Wa Avenue, Tim Mei Road and Performing Arts Avenue;
- Traffic along eastbound Gloucester Road will be prohibited from turning left onto Fenwick Street and Fleming Road; and
- PLA vehicles will make use of northbound Tim Wa Road and southbound Edinburgh Place.
The following traffic diversions will be implemented between 7.45 pm and midnight:
- Traffic along eastbound Connaught Road Central heading for Eastern will be diverted to the underneath of Harcourt Road Flyover, southbound Queensway, eastbound Queensway, Arsenal Street, Arsenal Street Flyover and eastbound Gloucester Road;
- Traffic along eastbound Garden Road Flyover heading for Harcourt Road will be diverted to eastbound Queensway, Arsenal Street, Arsenal Street Flyover and eastbound Gloucester Road;
- Traffic along southbound Murray Road heading for Harcourt Road will be diverted to eastbound Queensway, Arsenal Street, Arsenal Street Flyover and eastbound Gloucester Road; and
- Traffic along westbound Harcourt Road heading for eastbound Harcourt Road will be prohibited and diverted to use southbound Queensway, eastbound Queensway, Arsenal Street, Arsenal Street Flyover and eastbound Gloucester Road.
Suspension of parking spaces, taxi stands and car park complexes

The following parking spaces, parking meters will be suspended between 1 pm and midnight:
- Public bus, coach and meter parking spaces at Expo Drive East;
- Taxi Stands at Expo Drive East; and
- Motorcycle and meter parking spaces at Lung King Street.
The following parking spaces, taxi stands and car park complexes will be suspended between 5 pm and midnight:
- Maxicab stands at Tim Wa Avenue, Lung Wui Road and Wanchai Pier;
- Taxi stands at Tim Mei Avenue and Wanchai Pier;
- The public and private car park complexes along the closed roads at Edinburgh Place East, Tim Mei Avenue, Fenwick Pier Street, Fenwick Street, Harbour Road West of Fleming Road, Convention Avenue, Expo Drive and Expo Drive Central; and
- The private car park at unnamed road outside The Hong Kong Red Cross Headquarters.
Suspension of bus terminus and bus stops

The following bus terminus will be suspended between 3 pm and midnight:
- The Public Transport Interchange at Expo Drive East.
The following bus terminus will be suspended between 6 pm and midnight:
- Wan Chai Ferry Bus Terminus.
The following bus stops will be suspended between 7.30 pm and 11 pm:
- Outside City Hall, Connaught Road; and
- Outside Lippo Centre, southbound Queensway.
Road closure for dispersal

The following road closure will be implemented if necessary:
- Lockhart Road between Luard Road and Stewart Road;
- O'Brien Road between Jaffe Road and Lockhart Road; and
- Fleming Road between Lockhart Road and Hennessy Road.
Drivers are urged to take heed of traffic signs and the direction of Traffic Police at the scene.
