Appeal for information on dead body found in Lantau

Police today (March 26) appealed to the public for information on a dead body found in Lantau earlier this month.

At about 10.16 am on March 7, Police received a report that a body was found drifting off southwest of Siu Mo To. It was later confirmed to be a female body aged about 20 to 30.

Standing about 1.5 metres and weighed about 45 to 50 kg, the deceased has a round face, black hair at shoulder length and is of medium build. The deceased was wearing a long-sleeved beige jacket with floral pattern, a long-sleeved beige sweater with doggy pattern, a long-sleeved white T-shirt, a pair of black trousers, a pair of red socks with floral pattern, a pair of white sport shoes and a brown headband when discovered.

A small amount of Renminbi, a watch and a bundle of keys were discovered on the body while no identity document could be found at scene. Initial Police investigation revealed that there was no suspicious circumstance surrounding her death.

Police urge anyone who knows the identity of the deceased to contact investigating officers of Miscellaneous Enquiries Sub-Unit of Lantau North Division on 2988 2330.
