Appeal for information on dead body found in Kwai Chung

Police today (May 5) appealed to the members of the public for information on a dead body found in Kwai Chung early this morning.

At about 2 am today, Police received a report that a body was found floating on the sea off Container Terminal 5, Kwai Chung. It was later confirmed to be a male.

The deceased stood about 1.67 metres and weighed about 70 kilograms, was of medium build and middle-aged. No identity document could be found at scene and no characteristics could be seen on his body.

The man was naked with cut wounds found on his head, arms and feet when discovered. Initial examination revealed that the wounds were made by propeller. An autopsy will be conducted on Monday (May 8) to ascertain the cause of the death of the deceased.

Police urge anyone who knows the identity of the deceased to contact investigating officers of District Crime Squad of Marine Port District at 2110 5771.
