Fatal traffic accident in Kwai Chung

Police are investigating a traffic accident in which an 81-year-old woman was killed in Kwai Chung this (May 9) morning.

Shortly before 5.25 am, a public light bus driven by a 62-year-old man was travelling along Kwai Chung Road towards Kowloon. After making a right turn into Kwai Foo Road, it reportedly knocked down the 81-year-old woman who was crossing the road.

Sustaining serious injuries, the woman was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital where she was certified dead at 5.54 am.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South are proceeding.
