Fatal traffic accident in Sham Shui Po

Police are investigating a traffic accident in which a 91-year-old woman was killed in Sham Shui Po this morning (May 9).

At about 9am, a light goods vehicle driven by a 26-year-old man was travelling along the third lane of southbound Lai Chi Kok Road. When reaching near the junction with Nam Cheong Street, it reportedly knocked down the 91-year-old woman who was crossing the road.

Sustaining serious injuries, the woman was rushed to Caritas Medical Centre where she was certified dead at 4.36pm.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West are proceeding.
