Homicide in Yuen Long

Police are investigating a homicide in which a 73-year-old woman was found dead in Yuen Long today (June 9).

The case came to light around noon when the woman's 40-year-old daughter and 46-year-old son paid a visit to her home at Yuk Ping House of Long Ping Estate. They found their mother's bedroom locked from inside and reported the case to Police.

Police officers sped to the scene and firemen forced open the bedroom. The woman, covered by a quilt, was lying unconscious on the bed and was certified dead by ambulancemen at scene.

No external wound was found on the deceased. A post-mortem will be conducted tomorrow (June 10) afternoon to ascertain the cause of her death.

Her 76-year-old husband was later arrested in connection with the case.

Investigations by the District Crime Squad of Yuen Long are proceeding.
