Men arrested for murder

Police today (July 1) arrested five men, aged between 36 to 43, who suspected to be in connection with a murder in which a 40-year-old watchman was found dead at a waste recycle factory in Hang Tau, Sheung Shui last (June 30) evening.

Following extensive investigation, officers of Regional Crime Unit of New Territories North raided two residential units in Kowloon and eight scrap yards in New Territories North early this morning. During the operation, five men who suspected to be in connection with the murder case were arrested. Some iron and copper waste were also recovered from one of the locations.

The case was reported to the Police at about 6 pm yesterday from a 50-year-old factory owner that he discovered the watchman collapsed inside the container office and some iron and copper waste worth about $30,000 were also missing.

The watchman was certified dead at scene by the ambulancemen.

A post-mortem will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of the death of the deceased.

The arrested men are being detained for further enquiries.
