Man charged with murder

Police today (October 19) charged a 49-year-old man with one count of murder.

The man was arrested in connection with a homicide case in which a 69-year-old woman was found lying unconscious inside a unit at 29 Fort Street in North Point yesterday (October 18). The woman was certified dead at scene.

The post-mortem conducted on the deceased revealed that she was died of a major cut wound on the neck leading to excessive bleeding.

The man will appear in the Eastern Magistrates' Courts tomorrow (October 20).
