Fatal traffic accident in Lok Ma Chau

Police are investigating a traffic accident in Lok Ma Chau today (October 25) in which a 41-year-old man was killed.

Shortly before 1.25pm, a container trailer travelling along Sheung Shui bound San Tin Highway broke down when reaching outside Mai Po Lung Tsuen. Another container trailer driven by a 41-year-old man travelling behind rammed into the rear part of the vehicle broken down in front.

The 41-year-old driver was trapped inside the compartment after the impact and was rescued by firemen. He was rushed to the Northern District Hospital where he was certified dead at 1.58pm.

Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North are proceeding.
