Special traffic arrangements for parade in Shek O

Police will implement special traffic arrangements to facilitate the holding of a festive parade in Shek O on November 4(Saturday).

The special traffic arrangements will be implemented as follows:

(A) Road closure

Intermittent road closure will be implemented along the following roads in phases from 10.30 am to 2.00 pm and from 5 pm to 8 pm on November 4:

(a) Shek O Road between its junction with Big Wave Bay Road and Shek O Headland; and
(b) Big Wave Bay Road.

Vehicles parked in carparks within the closed areas will not be permitted to leave the carparks during the road closure periods until the roads are re-opened for normal traffic.

B. Temporary Suspension of Parking Facilities

The following parking spaces have been/will be temporarily suspended during the period as specified below:

(a) 121 private car parking spaces and all parking spaces for goods vehicles and coaches within Shek O Beach Public Carpark from 14 October 2006 to 6 pm on 11 November 2006; and
(b) All on-street metered parking spaces along Big Wave Bay Road from 8 am to 10 pm on November 4.

Any vehicle found illegally parked within the precincts of the special traffic arrangements specified above will be towed away without prior notice or will be ticketed.

Motorists are urged to take heed of traffic signs at the scene and instructions by traffic Police.
